Faith for the insurmountable.

Hello! dear friend.

How has your week been? I am certain you have reasons to be thankful to God. Just in case you can’t identify a reason for gratitude, may I suggest you find a quiet time and sit with your thoughts. Take a pen and paper and account for all the things causing you pressure and pain, present them before God and tell Him that whether those problems get solved or not, it doesn’t change the fact that He is God, He is big, He is almighty and all-powerful, and He is Love. And Because He is all that, you will praise Him in spite of your experiences.

My suggestion is for you to praise God in spite of your experiences. All for the reason that you still have your breath. (Psalm 150:6). And while praising Him, recall any good thing He has done for you in the past and thank Him for it. Repeat this practice and as you do, it will gradually free your soul from pain, anxiety, bitterness and worry and in a few days from now your mind will be clear enough to see the way out of any tight place. Hope will rise again and strength to go on will come.

Now to today’s issue. Faith has been largely misunderstood as a tool for receiving things from God. It has been taught as something in the believer’s toolbox for interacting with God to get our needs met. These are truths about faith but they do not communicate the whole counsel of God for creating faith as the central organ of the human spirit.

God’s purpose for faith is for life. Faith in your spirit was created by God for living. And in living I mean the fulfilment of your Destiny. A person is really not living by heaven’s standard if they are constantly not working their way up on a divine assignment impressed upon their heart. Faith is for the fulfilment of your Destiny. This is why I use the term Destiny-Faith.

Regardless of the cars you bought by faith, the salary raises you received by faith or the healing you appropriated through faith; if at the end of the day, it doesn’t connect to your God-given assignment you have misappropriated your faith. Implying that you had abundant life but never lived it in abundance.

Let’s Consider Jesus. He healed the sick by faith, preached and taught by faith, but the purpose of His faith was the fulfilment of His Destiny; which was to give up His life in death and believe God to bring Him back to life. Much more, to conceive the sin of all humanity and destroy it on the cross and rise up from the dead with all of humanity conceived in the Spirit. (See Rom 6:3-4). You rose up from the dead over 2000 years ago with Jesus even though you just activated that “recently” when you accepted Him as Lord. Jesus Christ had to believe for the recreation of your spirit and that of everyone in Him as far back as then and here you are today. That takes massive faith.

Imagine for a minute, God telling you to get in front of a bullet train and get crushed, trusting Him to put your limbs and organs together and raise you back to life with a perfect body. Yeah, that’s what Jesus did. He believed God to die and believed God to be raised from the dead. All by faith. None of the miracles and teachings Jesus did will matter to God’s eternal plan if He didn’t die on the cross and believed God to resurrect Him.

Another classical example is Abraham. Abraham’s Destiny was not just to have a child, no, he had several children. His Destiny was to become the father of many nations and to be the heir (owner) of the world. (Rom 4:13). To be the man through whom the whole world will be saved, i.e blessed. Although Abraham had children, If He didn’t believe God to be the father of many nations, the birth of Isaac would mean nothing. It would just have been another case of a barren woman and her husband blessed with a child by God.

My emphasis to you is to see that your life and faith have much more weight before God than the little things you possibly are believing Him for in isolation. Your faith in God should be for the fulfilment of your Destiny. You received the gift of a Destiny-faith the day you got saved (Eph 2:8). It is time to dream bigger, and apply that faith; believe for colossal things that will alter the destiny of the world.

If you are believing for a car, it must be because it will help you fulfil your Destiny. If you are believing for healing it is so that you will live long to do the works of God. All things you believe God for must be connected to the fulfilment of His claims on your life. When you live this way you become a thousand times bigger than anything the world can offer. You are living for a higher calling. I hope you get it?! It is important you locate in God what big thing He gave you the gift of faith to accomplish.

Let’s go a little deeper. Every believer has faith. As a matter of fact, every human has faith. But your faith as a believer is of a higher quality, given to you as a gift at the point of your salvation. It is a faith big enough to receive the life of God and recreate your human spirit. So much that the Holy Spirit called it the faith of the Son of God (Gal 2:20). The faith in you, is no ordinary faith. It is the same quality of faith that took Jesus to the cross and God used to raise Him back to life (Col 2:12). That faith was strong enough to contact God from the depths of hades and the grave and break through the hold of darkness and destroyed principalities and powers. That is why the faith in you is called the “victory that overcomes the world” (1 John 5:4). The application of that faith in you will get you out of anything as evil as hell. In comparison to the faith of the Son in you, the general human faith is like earphone wires compared to a high-tension or quadruplex armoured cable. They are both wires but their capacities are worlds apart. If you don’t get it, search Google, don’t forget about it.

Now dear friend, if the Faith in you is the same faith that God used to raise Christ from the dead, the same faith that bends the whole world to the will of God, then what won’t that Faith draw out from your heavenly Father? What won’t that Faith make possible? How won’t that Faith surmount the limitations of your environment and make you a pace-setter? Come on! imagine it. All things are possible to the one applying their Faith!

Your Destiny in God is the wildest dream you can conceive as the impact of your life and works on humanity. It is the unfettered desire of your heart to see the lives of people changed for the better. It is the unleashed imagination of your influence on the governments of this world. And the Faith of the Son of God inside your heart, inside your spirit, has been given to you to achieve these dreams.

My challenge to you today is for you to dream big, wild, broad and unrestrained because by faith, as far as your eyes can see you will impact the world and the people therein. It’s time to stop believing God for bits, pieces and crumbs here and there without connecting them to the fulfilment of your Destiny. Break out of small thinking! Open your mouth wide and I will fill it says the Lord! (Psalm 81:10)

Faith is for the fulfilment of Destiny, it is a Destiny-Faith.
